“If you're looking for a place just to sleep and be one with nature this is it! Kinda like glamping. There was mice poop everywhere, it's that time of year, didn't scare us. But their was no forks, towels, napkins, they only provided 1 trash bag we went through in a hurry and had to use grocery bags for garbage. Ran to gas station for forks and paper towels. The oven dorsnt wirk, so took 4 hours tobake a 20min bitter braid. Other than thst a good place to rough it and relax”

“Such a beautiful property! Our stay was so relaxing and peaceful. The home is a very welcoming home. They provide yard games, board games, and puzzles. Plenty of blankets and towels. There is a washer and dryer. We are looking forward to our next stay next year.”

“Great place. Had everything we needed. Everything was up to date and it was very clean. Plenty of parking and appreciated the exterior electrical outlets as we were hauling a boat. Very comfortable stay.”

Visitor Center staff were kind, engaged, and knowledable. Neat displays and information. Enjoyed learning about Norwegian heritage and history. Property manager provided great communication. Signage to property was also helpful. I had a wonderful stay and will definitely visit again.”

We thoroughly enjoyed the serenity of the winding creek and the surrounding bounty of nature. We look forward to staying there again - this time for a few days longer!!”

A previous reviewer mentioned that a bar got in and there was a smell, but we didn’t experience that over our 2 nights. Just a terrific place to stay with a great host! We’d definitely come back. ”

“Quiet and cozy cabin across the street from the Kickapoo River. Perfect size for two to take a quiet getaway for a time. Much to see in the Readstown and Viroqua area and Kickapoo Valley. Excellent hiking trails, restaurants/ bars and shopping within a short drive. LeAnne was very responsive and helpful. Would definitely stay again in the future.”
